New Dell PowerConnect network switches bring high-performance connectivity to the distributed enterprise

No more separation anxiety
It is easy to feel isolated at a branch office. When something happens at headquarters, the remote locations are always the last to know. If the company performs a new technology implementation, the branch folks are last to get the upgrade.
But with the DellTM PowerConnectTM 3248 and 5224 managed switches1 , enterprises have the high-performance edge connectivity to welcome their distributed workgroups back into the fold. The PowerConnect 3248 and 5224 are both stand-alone, Layer 2 devices that provide wire-speed connections to centralized resources like servers or high-speed backbones.
Cost-effective performance
The PowerConnect 3248 and 5224 help companies to optimize data delivery between smaller, branch office LANs and the main corporate network.
The PowerConnect 3248 includes 48 Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps) ports, along with two Gigabit2 Ethernet (1 Gbps) ports. It has a total switching capacity of 13.6 Gbps, and can forward a maximum of 10.1 million data packets per second.
The PowerConnect 5224 includes 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports and has a total switching capacity of 48 Gbps. It can forward a maximum of 35.6 million data packets per second, at a per-port price that beats many competitors' prices.
Switching stacks
If you need a stackable managed switch with similar enterprise-class performance and management features, the Dell PowerConnect 3048 offers 48 Fast Ethernet ports, four Gigabit Ethernet ports, and two built-in Gigabit stacking ports. It has a total switching capacity of 21.6 Gbps, and can forward a maximum of 16.1 million data packets per second.
The stackable nature of the PowerConnect 3048 allows switching equipment to expand easily as your business grows.
