An industry trendsetter, Lexmark was the first company to market 4800 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi) and 3600 x 1200 dpi resolutions, develop 1200 dpi laser and inkjet printers, and produce standalone photoprinters.

Thermal inkjet technology. Thermal printing is the result of an elaborate process: a miniscule semi conductor is heated in an abrupt way by means of an electric current. The ink is vaporised instantly on contact, creating an overpressure that ejects the liquid ink placed in front. This small quantity of ink is then projected through a miniscule nozzle that regulates the size of the drop. Lexmark inkjet printing technology comes from research laboratories in Lexington (USA) that improve procedures constantly and provide the most innovative technical solutions.

PrecisionPhoto technology offers extraordinary photo quality printing at up to 4800 x 1200. The combination of dual nozzle diameters and adjacent ink bubble chambers allow for ink drop sizes of 3pl to 10pl. By varying drop sizes, Lexmark printheads produce finer, less grainy images. In addition, a higher drop density results in greater depth quality images on any type of media. 4800 x 1200 dpi resolution gives you an amazing and precise print quality, whatever you decided to print. 3pL minimum drop size, to produce finer, less grainy images. Variable drop size for smoother half tones, higher print speed and optimisation of ink consumption.

Lexmark PrecisionSense brings together a series of innovations to ensure intelligent printing. Sensors automatically detect the type of paper used (plain paper, transparencies, coated paper or glossy/photo paper), and adjusts the print quality to suit the paper. Accu-Feed virtually prevents all paper jams and the automatic cartridge alignment makes the most of Lexmark's amazing printing definition.

The cartridge The Lexmark cartridges have the printhead systems integrated. The upkeep of the printer is made easier in this way, and the print quality increased. Indeed, changing a cartridge guarantees: A constant print quality: a new printhead, a new printer! Less cleaning, less waste of ink. A better print quality.
