Blade Server Benefits

Blade Server Benefits

Support for Future Generations

Dell designed the blade chassis to support the new PowerEdge 1855 blade server, based on Dell's eighth generation of PowerEdge server technologies. In addition, the PowerEdge 1855 was also designed with the foresight to support future generations of PowerEdge blade servers and I/O technologies.

The midplane of the chassis is a passive design with up to 10Gb/s throughput per channel, allowing I/O connectivity to scale greatly beyond what is being offered with today's I/O technologies.

Blade Server Chassis Backplane

The modularity of blade servers and I/O bays in the rear of the chassis was designed specifically to allow future generations of blade server deployment in the chassis, helping to protect your investment in PowerEdge blade servers.
